Tutorial: Create a Sci-fi Resource Crystal in Blender

This tutorial will walk you through the creation of these crystals from cube to render. Using mostly boolean operations and a little bit of clever node work, you will be able to produce endless variations of these crystals based on Tiberium from the Command and Conquer franchise. You will need a working knowledge of how to get around Blender's interface in order to follow along, but there is nothing too in depth about it.

The tutorial itself is an offshoot of a current fan art project I am working on. I posted a quick render of a mysterious green crystal formation on Instagram and got quite a few requests for a tutorial. This is the result. I hope you like it! I've included a bunch of images showcasing the final model in a number of uses. None of them are particularly high quality as far as renders go. Their intended purpose was social media viewing on a phone screen. You can also find the finished product used for these renders in my store: https://artofkarlb.com/store
